மதங்களை இழுவுபடுத்தும், சர்ச்சைக்குரிய மத போதகர் ஜெயராமின் கருத்தை அகில இலங்கை ஜம்மியதுல் உலமா சபை மற்றும் இலங்கை முஸ்லிம்கள் கண்டிப்பதாகவும் ஜம்மியதுல் உலமா அறிக்கை ஒன்றை வெளியிட்டுள்ளது
மதபோதகர் ஜெரோம் பெர்னாண்டோ என்ற நபர் சமீபத்தில் ஒரு பொதுக்கூட்டத்தில் பௌத்தம், இஸ்லாம் மற்றும் இந்து மதத்தை இழிவுபடுத்தும் வகையில் சர்ச்சைக்குரிய கருத்துகளை கூறியது சமூக வலைதளங்களில் வைரலாக பரவியது. அவர் தன்னை இயேசுவின் சீடர் என்று கூறிக்கொண்டாலும், அவரது பிரசங்கம் ஆத்திரமூட்டும் வகையிலும், மத நல்லிணக்கத்திற்கு அச்சுறுத்தலாகவும் இருப்பது மிகவும் வருந்தத்தக்கது.
அவரது சர்ச்சைக்குரிய அறிக்கை மற்றும் அவரது செயற்பாடுகள் மத நல்லிணக்கத்தைப் பாதுகாக்கும் வகையில் அமைந்துள்ளதால் அவருக்கு எதிராக விசாரணையைத் தொடங்கியதற்காக அதிகாரிகளுக்கு நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம். மத நல்லிணக்கத்தை சீர்குலைக்க முயற்சிப்பவர்கள் மீது உரிய நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படும் என நம்புகிறோம்.
இஸ்லாம் பற்றிய இழிவான கூற்றுகளைக் குறிப்பிடுகையில், குறிப்பிடப்பட்ட குறிப்பு முற்றிலும் தவறானது என்பதை நாங்கள் குறிப்பிட விரும்புகிறோம், மேலும் அவர் இந்த விடயத்தை அறியாமையால் கூறியதாகத் தெரிகிறது.

It has been reported that an individual named Jerome Fernando, had recently uttered controversial statements where he insulted Buddhism, Islam and Hinduism at a public gathering, which had virally circulated on Social media. It is most unfortunate to note that although he claims to be a follower of Jesus, his preaching seems to be provocative and as a threat to religious harmony.
We thank the authorities for commencing inquiries on his controversial statements and their efforts preserve interreligious harmony. We hope that those who attempt to disrupt interreligious harmony are dealt with appropriate measures.
With reference to the derogatory statements regarding Islam, we wish to state that the reference made is completely incorrect and he seems to have uttered these statements out of ignorance.
Love is a part of the essence of Almighty Allah as expressed in His Beautiful Name ‘al-Wadūd’, which is translated as ‘The Most Loving and can also be rendered as ‘The Affectionate.
The name al-Wadūd to other similar Beautiful Names denoting Allah’s Mercy, such as Ar-Rahman (The All-Merciful), Ar-Raheem (The Very-Merciful), Al-Ghaffar (The Ever-Forgiving), Al-Ghafoor (The All-Forgiving), Al-Latheef (The Subtle), Al-Haleem (The Forbearing), At-Thawwab (The Acceptor of Repentance), Al-A’fuww (The Pardoner), Ar-Rauf (Most Kind, the Ever-Compassionate).
The opening verse ‘Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem’ (With the name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Very-Merciful), which is recited at the commencement of almost all the Chapters of the Holy Quran, proclaims the Love and the Mercy of Almighty Allah. And also it is significant to note that the term ‘Mercy’ is mentioned nearly 348 times in the Holy Quran.
The Holy Quran states: “Say, “Call (Him by the name of) Allah or Ar-Rahmān (The All-Merciful), in whichever way you call, His are the Best Names.” (Surah 17 Verse 110)
The love of Allah reaches all people and all creatures through His innumerable acts of Mercy towards His creations. It is truly impossible for us to comprehend the blessings bestowed by Almighty Allah in this world, especially with the priceless gift of life itself.
Almighty Allah states in the Holy Quran: “and He gave you whatever you asked for. If you (try to) count the bounties of Allah, you cannot count them all…” (Surah 14 Verse 34)
Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah has one hundred parts of Mercy, of which He sent down one between the jinn, mankind, the animals and the insects, by means of which they are compassionate and merciful to one another, and by means of which wild animals are kind to their offspring. And Allah has kept back ninety-nine parts of mercy with which to be merciful to His slaves of the Day of Resurrection.” (Muslim, 6908)
As Muslims, we also believe that referring to Almighty Allah as ‘Father’, is to dishonor His grandeur status as Almighty Allah states the following in the Holy Quran, Chapter 112: “Say, ‘The Truth is that Allah is One. Allah is Besought of all, needing none. He neither begot anyone, nor was he begotten. And equal to Him has never been any one.”
And the Holy Quran also teaches us: “Do not revile those whom they invoke other than Allah” (Surah 06 Verse 108)
According to the Islamic teachings, we believe and honor all the Prophets, from Prophet Adam (PBUH) to the final Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), including Prophet Jesus (PBUH).
We pray Almighty to guide all of us to honor and respect the fundamental teachings of Prophet Noah (PBUH), Prophet Abraham (PBUH), Prophet Moses (PBUH), Prophet Jesus (PBUH) and the last and final Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon Him).
We pray that peace and harmony prevails in our country and around the globe.
